Personal life tragedy can happen to anyone, anywhere and at anytime. The Freedom Group of America (FGA) has recently experienced two such tragedies. In unrelated incidents, two people very close to the FGA family, John Paul Filippi and John Graziano sustained serious brain stem injuries. This type of injury changes lives to both patient and loved ones alike. Those who suffer brain stem injuries are in need of life-long support.

At the Freedom Group of America, our proceeds benefit a variety of charities, causes and individuals. Because these two incidents hit so very close to the FGA, we’ve established "The J&J Recovery Fund", specifically to support these young men and their families in this time of need.

A special Board of Directors will govern the distribution of monies donated to the "The J&J Recovery Fund." Specific allocations will be made to both families for help in defraying the high cost of special care needs, help with long-term care expenses and to support families and close caregivers.

Our goal is to help provide both John and John the highest quality of life possible, both today and in the future. The Board will offer continued support for important research and other programs that offer hope to a community of people whose lives have been impacted by brain stem injuries. These support efforts will be in the names of both John Paul Filippi and John Graziano.

The Board of the Freedom Group of America has approved a specific donation and towel sale for this fund. If you would like to purchase a towel or make a donation that directly supports this fund, please specify at the time of your purchase or donation.

Please remember to keep John and John, along with their families in your thoughts and prayers. On behalf of John and John and their families, the FGA extends a sincere heartfelt thank you.

On January 24, 2007, John Paul (a.k.a. “JP”) was involved in a tragic auto accident that took the precious life of fellow Center Area High School (Beaver County, Pennsylvania) classmate Chelsey Roman. To view the touching dedication video to Chelsey from her friends, Click Here.

“JP” sustained a very serious brain stem injury in the accident.

A senior ready to graduate in June, “JP” was a good friend to many at Center Area HS. He was a straight “A” student and talented drummer whose dream was to become a commercial pilot.

Since the accident, “JP” spent two months in the hospital and the next five months at the Children’s Rehabilitation Institute before being discharged to be cared for at home.

John Graziano John, 22, was severely injured in an auto accident on August 26th, 2007. Nick Hogan was also injured in the same accident.

While Nick was released with minor injuries the next day, John has been undergoing special care through the Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. John sustained a serious brain stem injury that has him facing a life filled with treatments and financial hardship.

John served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had just returned from a 9-month tour in Iraq prior to the accident.

A person with a big heart and known for his generosity, John needs our support to aid in his recovery process.

Nick and the entire Hogan family ask that you keep John and John, along with their families in your thoughts and prayers. On behalf of John and John and their families, FGA extends a sincere heartfelt thank you.
